Welcome back my sweet wonderful brilliant AP darlings! I sure have missed you! I hope you had a relaxing and wonderful break and that you're ready to hit the ground running this semester.
The first major task of yours is tonight's homework. You need to read through the list of 25 documents from U.S. History and select the source you're going to use for your paper for the Atlantic Monthly/College Board essay contest. Tomorrow you need to turn in to me a piece of paper that says which document you're going to use and a 3-4 sentence explanation of how the content of that document relates to your own personal experience or community. You can read the explanation of the entire essay contest here.
The second major task of yours is to make sure you're reading one of the books from the Independent Reading List. Your novel assignment is going to be due at the end of the month (January 30). You can check the Independent Reading List under the AP Language tab on this site or just click here. If there's a book you really want to read for this assignment that's not already on the list, you can bring it to me for approval. Keep in mind that these books must be at a collegiate reading level, so no teen vampire books will make the cut. #sorrynotsorry
Do your homework. Eat more salad. Be even more awesome than you already were! It's 2015!
