Here are your assignments for today. You need to get one of the red textbooks (on the filing cabinets at the back of the room) and:
- read the background information on Native American Literature on pp. 4-12. Be prepared to have a small quiz on those pages when I return.
- Read "The Earth on Turtle's Back" and "When Grizzlies Walked Upright" on pp. 14-21 of the text.
- Then you will create your own origin myth. It needs to explain a natural phenomenon (rain, the sun, wind, people, animals, the tides, etc. You get the picture) and be between 1/2 page and 1 page long. You can get bonus points for illustrating your myth.
